Info on Biking the Track
The Heaphy Track is one of the nine Department of Conservation's Great Walks of New Zealand. The only one you can mountain bike
Open to mountain bikers from the 1st of May to the 30th of November
The ride is 79km's long starting at Brown Hut and finishing at Kohaihai Shelter (Most common direction of riding)
Advanced, Grade 4 ride: 2 days and 1 night on the track
Bikes are flown fully assembled on our specially designed under-wing racks
With the track ends 470 km apart by road, we are the fastest option from end to end, making your ride possible in a weekend
Flight time to the start: Takaka to Brown Hut = approximately 10 minutes plus a 4km ride to the start from the airstrip
Flight time to the end: Karamea to Takaka or Brown Hut = approximately 20 minutes (16km ride to the airport from the track end, a shuttle is available from Kohaihai to Karamea airport, this is not included in the price)
Carrying up to 4 passengers with bikes and gear per flight

Please note
All flights are weather dependent and selected routes are flown at the pilot’s discretion. There is a waiting fee for all late passengers. Prices are quoted in New Zealand dollars and are GST inclusive. Credit card and oversea debit card transaction incur 4% surcharge.
Cancellations by Adventure Flights:
If the weather conditions make flying unsafe on the day of the trip, Adventure Flights will cancel the flight. This will be the pilot’s decision and there is no charge in this situation.
Cancellation by the Customer:
Within 7 days prior to trip = $50 per person fee.
Within 48 hours of the trip = 100% of total booking fee.
Non-cancellation or no show = 100% of total booking fee.
